Dessert Vector Illustration
This speed art video shows a dessert being drawn as vector art in Adobe Illustrator (the title says “Desert” but the subject is a sweet dessert). There is no voiceover, so it plays as a process video.
The artwork
A round cake or pudding sits on a white plate, topped with glossy red cherries and a rich caramel or red glaze that drips down the sides. Smooth gradients give the glaze its shine, the cherries carry bright highlights, and soft shadows under the plate ground the whole thing. It is drawn entirely in flat vector shapes yet looks appetising and three-dimensional.
What to look for
The realism comes from gradient shading and carefully placed highlights on the glaze and cherries. This kind of food illustration works well for menus, packaging and food-related graphics.
This is a speed art video, not a step-by-step tutorial. It shows the process to inspire and give ideas. For guided lessons, see the step-by-step tutorials linked below.
