Squid Game Characters in Chibi Style

This speed art video shows the masked guards from Squid Game drawn as chibi characters in Adobe Illustrator, entirely in vector. It is the fast version of the process; the narrated step-by-step tutorial for the same character is also on this site.

The artwork

Three guards stand in a row in their pink hooded suits and black masks, each with one of the three symbols on the mask: circle, triangle and square. The heads are oversized and the bodies small, in the Japanese chibi style. The suits show comic-style fold lines and shading, the masks carry a soft screen-like glow, and the dark teal background makes the pink pop.

What to look for

Because the three characters share one base body, the differences are in the poses and the symbols. Watch how the fold lines and shadows are placed the same way on each suit, which is what keeps the set consistent.

This is a speed art video, not a step-by-step tutorial. It is meant to show the process and give you ideas. For guided lessons, see the step-by-step tutorials linked below.
