Converting Kid’s Drawing in to Reality | Speed Painting in Adobe Photoshop

Kid’s Drawing to Reality, Episode 1

This is the first episode of the “Recreating a Kid’s Drawing into Reality” series, where a child’s simple sketch is reimagined as a detailed painting in Adobe Photoshop. It is a speed painting, so it plays as a process video rather than a step-by-step lesson.

The artwork

A child’s flat yellow cat drawing on the left becomes, on the right, a fluffy orange kitten with big blue eyes, soft painted fur and gentle shading. The finished creature keeps the spirit and shapes of the original scribble but adds realistic volume, texture and light.

What to look for

The fun of the series is seeing how the childlike proportions are kept while fur, shadows and highlights are painted on top with basic brushes. Watch how the big round eyes and the fluffy outline carry the “cute” feeling of the original drawing into the finished piece.

This is a speed art video, not a step-by-step tutorial. It shows the process to inspire and give ideas. For guided lessons, see the step-by-step tutorials linked below.
