Speed Painting a Dog Face
This speed painting shows a realistic dog portrait being painted in Adobe Photoshop with basic brushes, originally created as NFT art. It is a process video with no voiceover.
The artwork
A wire-haired brown dog is painted in close-up, with shaggy, textured fur, a wet nose and expressive eyes, against a warm tan background. The fur is built from many layered strokes and the highlights on the nose and eyes give the portrait a lifelike feel.
What to look for
The fur is the heart of the painting: short brush strokes in several tones, following the direction of the coat, turn flat colour into a soft, three-dimensional pelt. The wet highlights on the nose and eyes finish it off.
This is a speed art video, not a step-by-step tutorial. It shows the process to inspire and give ideas. For guided lessons, see the step-by-step tutorials linked below.
